Tenuta Croce di Bibbiano

Croce di Bibbiano is an ancient farm nestled in a magnificient unique natural environment surrounded by vineyards, olive-groves and little woods at  about 6 km far from San Gimignano, 25 km far from Siena and 35 km far from Florence. Easily reachable and ideal starting point in order to discover the ‘beauties’ of the Chianti region with its smooth hills, the ancient picturesque villages, where it seems that time has stopped, the numberless wine cellars and least but not last the  typical Tuscan welcoming’s friendliness. Our estate is composed of ancient stone-made farm-houses and is situated on the top of an hill facing San Gimignano, with a magnificient view on the medieval towers and on the below standing valleys.                  

It’s located in the hearth of a property of  about 60 acres, which includes  30 acres of vineyards, producing quality wines and more that 1000 olive trees, producing a very tasty and high quality cold pressed extravergin olive oil.

The farm-houses have been recently completely restored in  typical tuscan style maintaining intact the original old architectonic elements and can accomodate from 2 up to 8 people. 

At disposal of the guests: wide panoramic gardens and courts (more than 10.000 sqm) equipped with tables and chairs; a big swimming-pool (mt 7 x 15), situated on a natural terrace facing San Gimignano and an enchanting landscape; a barbecue-area, spacious common halls, Internet WI-FI, parking-places,  playing-ground for children, a little laundry and  a reception-office with our qualified staff, who speaks several languages and is always ready to assist you at all events. Our estate, an old monastery dated ‘ late Middle Ages’, is situated along the ancient Roman ‘Via Francigena’, scenery of long history and  legends handed on through the centuries: one of these tells about a nail coming from the Jesus Christ’s Holy Cross’ , that was found by a little girl on one of our hills called  since then  ‘Holy Nail   Hill’. Nowadays the relic is inside the Colle Val d’Elsa Dom. 

The monastery was at the time an halting-place between San Gimignano and Colle Val d’Elsa for all the pilgrims going to Rom.  Still nowadays  our vineyards are connected by the ancient path to San Gimignano (about 7 km) and to Colle Val d’Elsa (about 5 km) and you  can reach them walking through a magnificient landscape.
